Tuning into Love - 015 'Making Space'

I often sit and wonder how I got to be a mother of three. I often sit and wonder how I got these five seconds free to sit and wonder about how I got to be a mother of three!....and yet within it all is the beauty of finding a 'space' to enjoy a moment of 'wonder'.

The work I do as a Holistic Therapist brings with it a broad spectrum of experiences, and I meet a wide range of people too which is I feel a big reason for why I continue to do what I do. My work involves helping people get what they 'want' out of life. Maybe its been a pregnancy, maybe a romance, or just to have more time and less worries, but it has all been about 'making spaces' for that energy. The invitation has to be sent out there with the integrity of intention that you'll be available and provide a space for that energy to arrive and visit and become part of your life. Without that intention your 'wanting' just sits inside you, as a unfulfilled desire, and the wanting may manifest other things that you didn't expect, ie: wanting to be 'rich and successful' without assigning the time to complete tasks will just end in exhaustion and overwhelm.

But how does 'making spaces' work? Below is a very brief summary of some of the suggestions I've made that have brought successful outcomes for clients (and me too):

  • When desiring a pregnancy focus on the new life you will produce, the love you will show to, and share with, the child, and the involvement of your circle of friends and family with that energy of the child to be. Make a space in your schedules to dedicate to the new life you wish to include in your own. This symbolic gesture will have profound effect on how you view your life...as sometimes we are so busy 'getting ready to be parents' that we lose sight of the most important thing our children will want...our time.We work, save, work, pay off debts, work, socialise, work. And then we wonder why we won't conceive? or why a pregnancy fails to take...Even if you have experienced the heartache of that loss you can mend and repair the energy surrounding you and your partner. Spend time doing the kinds of things you feel a child would enjoy. Gardening, walking, playing, talking, reading, singing, dancing, daydreaming...all the stuff you really want to do yourself ;)

  • When desiring romance, fill your heart with Love for someone. Imagine the contentment of intimate comfort with a person you trust, and feel the affection for that person grow and bloom within you. Do not request it to be reciprocated yet, just enjoy the beauty of 'feeling love' for someone. Again, make a space in your schedule for the energy of the relationship to be invited in. Give yourself a list of things you would love to do with a friend. Dinner, movies, walks in the park or on the beach, adventure weekends ! who knows where it may lead...

  • When desiring a calmer Mind and a reduction in the overwhelm of Life, focus upon the tasks you can do in the next few hours. Nothing more. Make space for one task to be given your full attention...this could just mean you get the washing up done, but it does not matter what the task is, as long as you give it the space in your life and give it your full attention. Imagine yourself walking a stairway and each step represents both a task completed and the attainment of progression towards the goal. And then of course follow through on this by shoving everything else aside and completing one thing. The relief will be a revelation. I feel that physically 'making space' helps enormously with 'work and success' wants. Have a look around at all that you possess right now and figure out just how much you 'have' that you don't even use or want...it put a whole new perspective on feeling 'without' something.
Life is Space and Time, and everything occurs in Perfect Timing and occurs perfectly within the right space to manifest.

Using Botanical Sources for Vitamins and Minerals - Part 2

Modern lifestyles need more nutrients to help modern humans cope with the demands on their energy. What we consume is the key to gaining long term good health, overcoming short term illness and coping with everyday stresses we encounter. Most people will have at one time or another reached for a 'multi-vitamin' to do these things for them, or to assist in overall good health, or because a blood test revealed they were 'low' in a certain vitamin or mineral. Taking in vitamins and minerals as tablets may be beneficial, but there are other parameters to consider.

For example:
Why is your blood testing 'low' in any particular vitamin or mineral? What kind of health issues show up as depleted Iron, Magnesium, Zinc etc...?
What has your recent health 'history' got to tell you about the strength of your immune system?
Are you conscious about what you eat? or do you consume mindlessly?
Are you eating raw food often enough to gain the best possible quality of vitamins or minerals?
What is in your multi-vitamin broad spectrum supplement? Do they contain a colour, or flavour, or preservative?
Where have these minerals and vitamins come from? Are they sourced from animal byproducts?

When you consume nutrients as food you gain so much more because the 'whole food' contains a broad spectrum of constituents, like oils, acids and fibre, that assist you in absorbing those very nutrients. This is how the human body is 'set up' to receive nutrients,...its why our digestive systems are so complex and marvelous.

Getting the best quality food means getting the most nutrient dense food, which is organically grown without pesticides and herbicides, but also with soils that have been cultivated using organic nourishment. I often raise my eyebrows at that constant mainstream 'whine' that certified organic produce costs more,... because it will actually end up saving you money due to the nutrient density of the foods. Vitamin and mineral supplements can be an expensive alternative to just buying good quality food in the first place....and botanical sources are by far the cheapest way to get your nutrients in a way that your body finds easy to absorb and use.

There is one particular mineral that you can consume to help your overall health and have noticeable improvement in just a week or so, and that is Zinc. Zinc is like a 'building block' for cells, and imperative for good cell health, meaning that without it the whole building (our body) falls down. Its found in a variety of foods already covered in Part 1, but here's a list of Zinc rich foods you can eat in your everyday diet.
Pumpkin seed and flesh
Spinach and silverbeet
Asparagus
Peas
Brussel Sprouts
Seeds - Chia, Sunflower and Poppy
Seed and Nut paste - Tahini, ABC spread (almond, brazil and cashew)
Dried fruits - Figs, Currants and Bananas
Fresh fruits - Avocado, Apricots, Dates
Winter fruits - Blackberries and Blueberries
Oats (raw)

The absorption of Zinc can open up a pathway to good health because it assists absorption of other minerals and vitamins. Because it is a key to good cell health it enables the cell to firstly obtain good nutrients, expel waste, and know what to do with the other nutrients in your digestive system. Smart little blighters your cells aren't they? :)

Part 3 will conclude with beneficial oils, acids and probiotics from botanical sources. :)
Blessings

7,3 combinations and being unco-ordinated...generally

In the monthly Flying Stars Forecast for October you will have noticed that the South has a 7,3 combination of influences, which is usually related to the 'loss' of something. 7 is associated with 'loss' and is called the 'Robbery' influence in traditional FS text.

Sometimes a 7 Star influence means people misplace things for the month (one of my sisters did this a few years ago when she had a 7 Monthly Star at her front door, but didn't really 'lose' anything permanently, it was just annoying for her) and the 3 Star influence means they may find that chatter increases with a competitive edge to it...
I get a little 'edgy' when I see a 7 Star in combo with a 3 or a 2, as these are generally unhelpful influences in tandem with the destructive aspect of the 7. When we have a 7,3 the 7 is Metal and wants to 'dominate' the 3 Wood influence. Literally 7 is a potentially destructive energy that if unfavourably activated can 'cut down' Ambitious energy, which is associated with Wood. 3 is also a commerce energy, so it likes to accumulate success in Growth. This is where a lot of the 'loss' interpretation comes from. 7 is called 'Pleasure and Destruction' and 3 is called 'Conflict and Competition'...so you have really 'bolshy' influences.
The 2,7 combo sees the 7 influence being 'nourished' by the Earth influence of the 2. 2 is associated with the gut (Stomach, Abdomen, Spleen) and we now know that there is a 'secondary brain' in the gut which we use to interpret what we consume. 2 is called 'The Sickness Star' because it can manifest ill-health as a message. With this kind of masochistic edge, I dislike having 'sickness and destruction' together...most people would.

7 is associated with the Mouth, Teeth, Thorax and Chest, so its all to do with speech and the production of speech and 'consumption' of information.
'Talking his way out of it...' byFrits Ahlefeldt

3 is associated with the Lower Legs, Feet, Throat, Neck and Liver, which is to do with the 'fire' of communication and more importantly the direction of information.

What's happened to me this month is I've got a 'double whammy' of the 7,3 from the South and the 7,2 from the SE combinations due to the Form of the block of units I live in, and the Position of my house as the middle unit. I've had a compulsion to talk, chat, speak, ramble, blabber....etc...so much more than usual...so I've been channeling it into blogging (in case you hadn't noticed) to 'use it up'. However, I've also been having a running problem with injuries to my mouth and feet! One small scar heals only to be replaced the very next day with some bump or bash (kicked a stick out of the way at the park and punctured my skin on the top of my toe)...and then the icing on the cake was a dog nipping my leg yesterday! Yes, right outside in the South sector, right where the 7,3 is doubled up, and the dog ran into the area from the SE...where the 2,7 is for October. I've also got that pesky and uncomfortable Star 5 in an open area to the SW...When something like that happens I go take a look at the floorplan again and have a look at Flying Stars for the month ;)
Basic layout of the block of units showing the Position of my house in the middle of the block...

I can put this down to a few things. One, the 'Water Metal' representation I usually have out here has been moved, and, Two, we've had to store the bins here for a couple of reasons, and...we are due to have them cleaned out thoroughly...so they aren't all sparkly and nice right now. Three, well, my bedroom is in the SE and South, so I'm sleeping on it. Makes you think of that advert from years ago for a dishwashing liquid where the actor playing a Manicurist raves to her client that "you're soaking in it!". Also, we haven't been using the garage door in the SW all year until last week, when the weather got warmer and we started to open it up for airflow. I feel the energy of movement and Human Chi has attracted Star 5 into the house.
My job for tomorrow is...tah-dah!...cleaning bins and putting the Water Metal representation back in place :)

I hope you have a better set of chores on the cards than I do ;)
Many Blessings

Turning that frown upside down...

Have you ever experienced phases where you just can't seem to 'feel good about yourself'? It can feel like your 'looks' have left you. While this can be related physically to hormonal fluctuations, stress, over-work, or ill-health, it sometimes doesn't seem to have a direct reason for manifesting. We may just 'feel ugly', and that's depressing...

Depression, sadness, despondency, Melancholy, etc; all add to the downward droop of our facial muscles, increasing wrinkles, lines and sagging, so its important to feel good again to look good again. A few very simple remedies and techniques will lift your mood and improve the appearance of your face, which will help you enjoy more positive reactions and interactions with the world.

Herbal Remedies for Happiness and Calm
  • Make a tea of dried St John's Wort (Hypericum) 3 times a day to alleviate and remove depressive feelings.
  • Make a tea (infusion) of Chamomile flowers 3 times a day to induce calm and contented feelings. It also helps you to deal or cope with stressful situations of all kinds.
  • Chew 3 or 4 Fennel seeds 3 times a day to increase feelings of courage and bravery. This is also a wonderful digestive system smoother and toner.

Flower Essences for Happiness and Calm
'Crab Apple' from The Encyclopedia of Bach Flower Therapy, Mechtild Scheffer.
  • Rescue Remedy is a 5 flower essence mix (similar to Emergency Essence) to restore Balance and Harmony in all situations where the energetic and physical, emotional and spiritual 'body' may be put under any kind of stress. Take 4 to 7 drops as often as you like in a cup of water and sip slowly until Balance is restored.
  • Take a course dosage of Crab Apple essence 3 times a day for approximately 2 weeks to release unwanted and unbeneficial Energy Signatures.
  • Take a course dosage of Gorse essence 3 times a day for approximately 2 weeks to restore thought patterns that provide Hope and Encouragement.

Simple Meditation Techniques for Restoration and Calm
  • Place your palms onto your diaphragm and breathe deeply and slowly for 11 breaths, gathering the energy of the Solar Plexus into your hands. After this, place your palms lightly onto your face so that your fingertips are on your forehead and your little fingers (pinkies) are lightly against the sides of your nose. Breathe again deeply and gently for 11 breaths. This calms internal Chi Flow and restores energy to your facial muscles. It can be a beautifully nourishing exercise to do anytime.
  • Use the Reiki 'hands on face' position and administer your Reiki self healing for as long as you want :)
  • Do Perineum exercises to re-balance Chi Flow in the body and the internal muscles of the 'core body'. Your Perineum is the strap of muscle between the genitals and the anus, and is directly connected to the core muscles all the way to your throat and tongue. Simply tightening the Perineum for a count of 7, 3 times will bring instant awareness back to the head and strength to the body.
Foods for Restoration and Happiness
  • Pomegranate juice or raw fruit is excellent for blood health and is highly antioxidant and high in Vitamin C, which is good for skin complexion and is an immune system supporter too.
  • Lime juice in a cup of warm water in the morning (before other food or drink) can lift the mood and help to detoxify the Liver. It will also make the Kidneys work efficiently and thus help to restore your Adrenal gland health. This in turn establishes a more controlled emotional outlook and psychological health improves.

Avoiding foods with processed sugar or flour will help your consciousness develop a more 'connected' aspect, and with this connection comes a lot of positive energy flow.

Blessings for Beautiful Health

Tuning into Love - 014 'Living the Dream'

Who could have told me that one day I'd be a Feng Shui Practitioner? I would not have believed them 10 years ago...all I knew was that I wanted to follow the Magic I saw in the world, and begin to be more Me. I had no plan, other than to 'keep on going', and now, in the immortal words of Dory from the film 'Finding Nemo', one can just "Keep on swimming, keep on swimming" and know that you will reach a destination...but far more valuable is the time spent getting there.

We've all heard that phrase 'its not the destination but the journey that counts'? Well, its true. I love 'being here now', but getting here was a bit of a blast too! Ups and downs, sometimes the downs can be way, way down as well, and it is probably from those deep dark places that the view of the Light seems so enticing. Having any 'goal in life' is just about looking towards the Light of life and striving to have it shine a little brighter your way. So even now that I'm here, sitting in the sunlight, soaking up the rays, feeling warm and comfortable, nourished and appreciated, I can still view a brighter place, and I can sense the euphoria of finally achieving contentment.

This ability to 'future think' is so valuable. And now I am realising that even though I am not where I 'want' to be, right now I am where I once 'wanted' to be ... and that's a pretty cool place to get to.

Tuning into Love - 013 'Choosing the Positive'

We are all prone to moments of deep introspection, of 'evaluating' our lot in life, and often we are propelled into a state of depression or mad frustration, sometimes even a manic kind of 'brainstorm to plan to succeed' takes over. Well, its time to just sit back and survey your kingdom...

The other day, not so long ago, I lived in a house that was kind of falling apart, the 'facilities' weren't great, and I felt somewhat left out of 'modern life'. I now live in a brand new house, its modest but calm and happy, and I like it like that. Not too much to keep clean ;]

I looked around at the shoddy work of the plastering, the paint that peels up and the guttering system that hasn't been installed properly, and I just smiled to think that I am fortunate enough to live in a house that protects me from the rain, wind and harsh sun. It shelters my little family and looks lovely when I give it Love. It's a two way street when it comes to having 'a home' you know....

So I don't mind the paint peeling up a little, most of it is all good. I don't mind the guttering not working perfectly, as long as the tank gets filled up. I don't mind the plastering not being 'perfect' because it helps to dispel any possible 'clinical' feeling that modern houses can have when everything is just 'so'. In fact, I LOVE all the little things about my house that I can notice and have an opinion on.

"I choose to accept 'differences' as a way of Tuning into Love"
"I Tune into Love by focusing on the Beauty inherent in all things"

Its a Zen thing, this 'tolerance' attitude...but wow, it so rocks!

Tuning into Love - 012 'Beautiful Colour'

Do you see colours around people? or do you 'feel' a certain colour when you think of a certain person? I'm intrigued with people who can see auras, as its only happened occasionally to me, more often I can 'feel' a colour about a person's energy.

I spent a daydream yesterday focusing on the colour of one of my sisters. She had been coming into my Mind often and we actually visited her yesterday, had quite an eventful visit and when I got home we spent some quiet time doing quiet things. Was that kind of squally weather outside that doesn't invite one out for a walk...so a daydream session in front of a window was on the cards.

Anyway, the colour of this sister came in so strong, a beautiful representation of her energy. Pale ochre yellow waves with transparent forest green, and she has this little cluster of brilliant blue with bright silver sparkles sort of 'following' her around,...almost like a pet :) Very cute.

A very basic representation of the vision of my sister's colours :)

"I tune into Love by exploring my daydreams"
"I tune into Love with the exploration of energy manifestation"

What all this prompted was a desire to express my daydreams on paper again, and I so rumaged around in the store-room, quickly finding my watercolour pad, and a wonderful surprise too....a pack of *new*, sparklingly new, watercolour pencils! Oh joy :) Happiness is a new pack of watercolour pencils :))

Using Botanical Sources for Vitamins and Minerals - Part 1

Whenever I've started researching vitamin and mineral supplements I've usually been concerned about whether the manufacturer has used any fillers or additives in the product, or I've been interested to know 'where does this mineral come from?', 'what is it's source?'. I know that I'm far happier not 'popping pills' and prefer to get my nutrient intake from fresh and usually raw foods.
But why do I do this?
Botanical sources of vitamins and minerals are more digestable, take less energy to digest, and when used in combinations that compliment each other can optimise the absorption within the body.
Cool hey ? :)

Tuning into Love - 011 'The Power of Place'

Do you have a special place in the world that 'calls' to you? I know there are a few places like that for me, and I've been fortunate enough to visit some of them. Connecting with the energy of a place brings in a special kind of Love full of mystery and magic, a deep connection to something in the Earth that 'knows' you, and wants to honour the connection. You can of course do this kind of visiting in meditations, visualisations, dreaming, astral travelling etc, but there is something particularly powerful about physically visiting a personal Power Place.

On Mothers' Day this year I knew where I wanted to visit. One of my Power Place's is a rock formation in a waterfall in the Numinbah Valley, on the border of SE Queensland and Northern NSW, about an hour and a half from where I live near Brisbane. But this year, another rock had been very insistent in its invitation to connect. Past the border of Northern NSW is a huge extinct volcano called Wollumbin, (Mt Warning on the maps) and it had been saying hello for years. Everytime I'd reach a highpoint on the M1 down to my FengShui studies on the Gold Coast, this huge outcrop of a mountain would kind of 'waive' at me...if you can imagine a mountain waiving....
For years this has been happening, and this year it was as if it had just reached the end of its patience with me and demanded my attention :) So of course, I had to go :)

What a day it was. Took the whole family, we did a picnic at the base of the mountain, the kids exploring the bush and the streams. Then we went up to the walking track and silently and happily took in the majesty of the place. I didn't get to do the many km trek up to the summit that day... (baby is only 2yrs old and I knew we would arrive too late in the day to join up with the organised walkers) but just being there was enriching. On the way back down we stopped again at one of the streams and the kids made little 'stupas' from the river rocks, as we had seen this in many of the rivers on the way up the mountain :)

A day just full of Lovely things to see, and do and feel.

"I tune into Love through the memory of special places"
"I tune into Love by honouring the majesty of Mother Earth"

I don't think I've got my 'fill' of the message that Wollumbin is able to provide, but I'm grateful for the appetiser :) and plan to get a full main course of Wollumbin Magic as soon as can be arranged :)! The Power of Place is always going to intrigue me and provide a source of enjoyment and spiritual nourishment my whole life long. Have you got a special place that speaks to your spirit?

Forecast for October 2010

October has a wonderful feel to it. Like the calm before the storm we all know is about to greet us during December :)

Centre - Potential Conflict may affect the Health or sense of Stability in Life. Be aware of 'nuts' trying to push your buttons, and be like an Aikido Master...using the energy of the attack to bring the attacker off-balance....very Zen. If in business, this energy can manifest excellent competitive behaviours and really improve morale if used cleanly.
Remedy:  Place pale and soft Fire coloured flowers and blooms to soften the more undesirable traits of this energy influence. Use the words 'Scruples' and 'Integrity' to keep the energy of competition on track ;)

South - The ability to lose possessions is very real during October, so keep an eye on your valuables at all times, primarily if you have a doorway or busy area in the South of your property. Pleasure distracts our usual sense of purpose and decorum, which may mean you lose both money and respect...
Remedy: This is the classic combination of 'Loss Energy' often called 'robbery or burglary stars'...so do look at the general security measures (physical) in the South areas of your property. Use a bridging method of Five Element Balancing by implementing both Fire and Water representations.

SE - Accumulation vibe comes into the Wealth sector making you feel that little more Abundant than usual. Its a cruisey kind of vibe, but with the previous combination so close in the South, and the Pleasure / Destruction energy sitting in the SE for the whole FS year, it would be wise to be mature about finances during October. Tip: Think planning and organisation so that you can be sorted out for the 'silly season' to come ;)
Remedy: If this is a bedroom you may benefit from placing a Salt Water Cure here during October.

East - Wisdom is so gratefully received into the Family sector with real help to Initiate good foundations for future Health. It is also the traditional combination that assists with all writing skills, and is helpful for study too.
Tip: Use this space to study, write, collate, present information or practice speeches too.

NE - The Divine Connection combination of Heaven Meets Earth is in the Contemplation sector! Oh yay. Get the meditation cushion out and go for it in a big way. Yes, heavy duty zenning is called for during October and you will achieve connections if you focus on them. But of course its as easy as getting your eyes out of focus while 'plomped' in a beanbag...Leadership teams up with Receptivity in a cracker of a space to help cultivate your inner Knowledge.
Tip: Place representations of Divine Beings, people who inspire you, and family or friends that can help you in a mentoring sense.

North - The Wealth Star visits our Vocation sectors this month, assisting prosperity for all Career and Life Purpose aspects. This combination of Passion and Observation (Star 8 is a 'strong and still' energy) can be a massive help when it comes to identifying 'the right choice' in anything related to work.
Tip: Enhance with beautiful Fire coloured gemstones, ground with big heavy objects like beautiful statues or large specimens of rock. Clear away any clutter/junk and repair anything broken. Get this energy sparkly and gorgeous to reap the greatest rewards!

NW - Passion comes to support Clarity in the Progression sector. This may bring you a mentor unexpectedly suited to exactly the skills you need to learn. Could also mean you meet 'that person' who thinks just like you and is interested in the same things you are, and this helps you further knowledge and appreciation of your interest. All good :)
Tip: Beautify this area as an invitation to receive the best possible messenger :) I love the energy of Rhodonite (this one is SO in tune with Star 9 energy!) stones, and also Ruby in Zoistite or Ruby in Kyanite. If you can't get the actual stones see if you can find things that are pale ruby in colour or choose a few similar 'ruby-like' colours for the decor here.

West - Potential challenge and discomfort in the Creation sector marks a time to collate inspired works already started, and hints that its not such a great time to start any 'new' ideas, as they may be marred by potential problems. Children may be inclined to push boundaries in a big way this month, so it is a time to utilise that fab energy of the NE to cope during the times you want to 'lose it' and behave 'like a child'.
Remedy: The Sound of Metal energy from metal wind chimes, piano music, tribal bells and gongs...all of these can assist in deflecting this energy away from your Life Experiences. Hang your metal windchimes outside if possible to deflect it before it gets to the building proper, and if you are out all day leave the CD of metallic sounding music playing softly all the time. Do not leave anything broken, dirty or cluttered up in this sector as it can affect the general ability to keep the Mind clean and free. Tidy up, clean up and repair.

SW - Clarity and Warmth visit the Communication sector to help this area which is connected to our Relationships. Its been the source of potentially uncomfortable energy all year because of the Annual Star 5 here, and the Sui Po (Year Breaker) energy residing here until Feb 2011. Don't break the ground with digging of course, and it is already a sector where you have implemented the Metal element in some form this year. It may signal a potential reprieve from exasperating behaviour or arguments, and its only in November that Star 5 will be calmed by the Ruling Star 8, providing a space to speak and clear up issues relating to communication issues.
Tip: Hold tight for this month again, keep the Peace and gather your thoughts maturely for next months' 'D and M' talk.

We are through to the last quarter of the year, and wow, isn't it amazing at how quickly Time is flowing now?!
Remember to breathe deeply, take time to gather your Mind clearly, and plan your Life so it flows with a grace and purpose to astound you...in a really, really nice way of course ;)

Tuning into Love - 010 'The Magic of Words'

Some words hold very special vibrational energy, like the word 'Grace', 'Peace' and of course 'Love'.

I've recently had the word 'gracious' running through my Mind, and love to notice occurrences like this, and then watch for the unfolding story behind the message in my Life Experience. Around this time I had also been exercising with using the mantra "OM Shanti OM", which very loosely translated means 'the beginning of peace to the end of time', as OM is like a cosmic 'all there is', and Shanti is Peace.

Gracious to me meant it was a 'way of Being' for me at this present time. A way to get through or improve my experiences, and hopefully this would help to smooth the energy of behaviour and expression in my Life Experiences. Its certainly a beautiful word to connect with; to 'tune in' with :)

This is a simple 'Chi Accumulator' diagram with some words arranged. Its a good focus for meditation, as it builds energy with the mantra...very groovy baby... :)  (art by Jannette Tibbs....let me know if you'd like this jpeg full size...)

"I now tune into Love with gracious behaviour and expression"
"I now tune into Love with the magic of beautiful words"
