Clear the way...

"Clear the way and let it come to you."

When energy is blocked it cannot find a path to follow, and it festers, re-hashing the layer of energy until it is spent. You've heard of 'Groundhog Day' yes? Or being 'stuck in a loop'? Recycling is great for metal, wood, plastic and paper...but not so much for you and your life's journey...

If you hear yourself saying phrases like,.."I really hate it when this happens" ..."Why is bad stuff always happening to me/us?"... "I can't see a way out of this situation"... "It feels as if the world is against me", or similar, then you are receiving a message loud and clear that your current life situation is in need of change.

Comfortable change, when attained, is a beautiful journey of discovery, achievement and enjoyment. The simple and often misunderstood act of 'change' is all about inviting in a new set of possibilities, opening yourself to new potentials by establishing a new grid of energy in your home, mind, heart, life and more.

When energy flow (qi flow) is nourished with easy, meandering avenues, it will naturally become creative, alive and dynamic.
The outer cycle of energy is normal, and natural, and nourishing...this is feng shui theory describing the flow of Qi.
The Elements represent a 'type of energy' not only the material form.

How do we apply this idea into everyday life?
Through our thought processes being given new and nourishing ways to solve problems, perceive issues and attain prowess. (meditation, self-improvement literature and courses)

Through our food and liquid intake we can drastically change our body's ability to process toxins and nourishment as well. We can change the energy layer of physical health within days if proper qi flow options are taken.

Through our involvement with social interactions and entertainment we can assist both thought and physical qi flow.

Through our intimate relationships we can heighten the spiritual heart connections we have with our beliefs and loved ones.

Through respecting our finances and observing with gratitude the current living conditions we are immersed in, we can build a new sense of stability and security to support wealth opportunities.

Long ago I wrote an article about 'shaking up the Grid', which was a similar piece, relating the connection between our energy layers and our lifestyle. If the grid is changed, that is, the current interlocking layers are moved, refreshed, removed and re-instigated with the highest possible energy flow, then our life will be refreshed with healthy new qi flow, and healthy new occurrences will manifest.

Today, think about two things you want to change or need to change, and write down options for making these things change for the better. Two small steps today that you can put into practice for one month.

Carpe Diem (of sorts) for the new year to come.

Blessings

Happy New Year 2016 - what's coming up

Blessing for a beautiful start to the new year for everyone, everywhere. An intention for the new year need not be about you at all...maybe take the pressure off yourself (your Self) and make 2016 a year where you focus on what you can do for other people, places and spaces. Good idea?

The ability to be flexible like this can help you achieve more for yourself in the long run. Giving always means the natural balance is at work, and so you shall receive in some way, always, from giving of your time, energy, money or self. This is SO supported this coming year.

Here's something from the introduction to the Annual Influences Guide 2016 that might explain a little...
It is with great pleasure that I again introduce you to the Ruling Annual Energy Influence for the coming year. 2016 sees Star 2 light up the Centre Palace of our homes, dwellings and workplaces. It is the Mother Influence, related to Earth, and the Trigram ‘Xun’, sometimes related to weakness, it is the  triple Yin line that identifies ultimate flexibility, but also the potential for instability.

The power to create security, peace and prosperity is in your hands

So Star 2, 'Xun', in the Southwest sector, is a very receptive energy. It can lead to a lot of daydreaming (my favourite past-time I must say) and is on the opposite side of the Bagua to the sector of the NE, which is the 'Knowledge & Self Cultivation' / 'Contemplation' life aspect. I love this approach to looking at the Bagua and use it whenever I am performing an assessment of charts for Annual Influences or even buildings. Star 2 will have us reviewing our Connections in all contexts from our personal relationships to our connection with Earth, Heaven and ourselves. 'On the flipside', the Contemplation sector in the NE is hosting the Star 5 of Pure Potential. This energy often gets a very bad wrap, because it often deserves it really, ...but in context everything has it's Yin and Yang expression.

What do I see when I observe the Change Star 5 entering the NE? Well, two things actually.

Firstly, the NE is the natural home of Star 8, so generally, Star 5 energy has to behave quite well in conjunction with this benevolent influence. The natural energy of the NE is strong and stable, still, reliable...so it is going to be very much a balancing, slowing energy for the Annual Influence. However, the Period Star 2 has been in residence in the NE since 2004, and is well and truly ensconced, so it will be ready to link with this new Annual Star 2. If you've studied any Flying Stars Feng Shui then you'll know the alarm bells that go off when we see a 2,5 combination, but take a breath, a deep one, and relax. Both 2 and 5 in conjunction with an 8 will theoretically 'behave'. However, I'm still suggesting we input a Wealth Bringer Bowl in the NE this year as a precaution...

Secondly, the sector of the NE is all about our ability to stop and review. To observe. To take the mental note, the emotional truth and the intangible sixth sense message and interpret them. If we have been having difficulty in processing our innate wisdom, then this year offers us an opportunity to tap into Star 5 and change this. Star 2 has been offering us the connections we need in order to gain a better hold of how we nurture our Self and in what way we cultivate our self-improvement strategies for over 10 years now. It has been an energy in society that has built steadily over the last decade to the point now where 'self-improvement retreat' is as natural as saying 'a weekend away'.

For more feng shui insights using the Flying Stars theory I invite you to purchase the Annual Influences Guide 2016 or, take a look at one for free from the download on the website. They are always full of information that can assist you in navigating the changing energy layers of the year ahead, and help you plan for success and support. Written in plain speaking language with many explanations, you will also find a glossary of elemental balancing ideas at the back of the guide to help you tweak your spaces for maximum harmony. With Kuan Yin, a representation of the feminine Divine, on the cover this year radiating the bright glory of pure nurturing, support and protection.

May your 2016 be filled with abundance, light and beauty!

Many Blessings
Nette

'Feng Shui and other influences we can't see' - Link to podcast and some musings...

Hello and happy June! Nearly halfway through the year and the winds of Winter curl around my ankles, chilling the back of my neck and reminding me that Solstice is nearly here. A time for reflection.

It was in February this year that I was invited to record an interview with Michelle House about the new Feng Shui Annual Influences and some other observations about the value of Feng Shui principles in everyday life. Time flies for sure because that only felt like it was last week!
Here is the link to the podcast for those of you who would like to listen...

What a transformative time 2015 is turning out to be. There is the opportunity this year to take hold of issues that have been circling and perhaps confronting or intimidating you. It's sort of like being baited for an argument which you may choose to engage in and learn from, or pass up and let it sail on by...you know, ah-la Captain Jack Sparrow like...  "I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by."

For me the question this year has been engaging in confrontation. I'm a non-combative person, very happy to be happy, so confrontation never comes naturally, however, I am learning that confrontation in itself need not be 'aggressive' at all, which is enlightening. Confrontation is the hallmark of Star 3 energy. It is pushy, aggressive, sometimes even damaging, yet I always look to both sides of the story. Why is Star 3 given this horrid reputation when in fact Star 3 is also the energy Influence of the East, and related to Health, Family and the igniting energy of nature? Surely this energy would be useful, helpful and positive too? Of course it is! :) It is all about Perception and the way we use it.

When presented with a confrontation person or issue I have been practising my skills of negotiation and also honing my response to intimidation. I feel it is a big personal growth leap for me to learn how to control fear and intimidating feelings so that I can protect myself from lowering my vibration, and succumbing to situations that spiral downwards and inwards negatively.

Peaceful repose brings effortless insight...

What I have been doing is using a technique that helps me to utilise my sense of empathy and to engage with someone intimidating as a 'real person' instead of being overwhelmed by their aggression and or confusion, and my confusion too... for it's often that confusion that translates as frustration and that can further inflame a hot tempered person. Our facial expressions send those signals, so I've been making myself more conscious of the messages my face sends to someone who is confronting me. What tends to happen is I might squint a bit, purse my lips or cock my head to one side. All very natural responses to being confused or confronted.
So instead I'm teaching myself to find a new response...
I relax, I breath, and then I literally 'open my face' to them and listen 'harder' ;). I ask myself quietly "What are they asking for? Can I give it to them? Can I help in this situation?"

And then I allow the event to unfold with expansive and compassionate energy. The more I listen and relax, the better the outcome, for both of us.

Emotions are like water; always in motion from one state to another. What we seek to do is not 'control' it, but rather encouraging its to flow in the most beneficial and positive direction.

Life is so quick nowadays, and it takes real consciousness to stop and hear people. We need to re-learn this skill on every level in our lives, from intimate moments with partners, to parenting behaviours with our children, interactions with co-workers and everyday occurrences with people.

Breathe. Stop. Relax and listen. Open dialogue with something like, "Ok, I hear that you are [angry/sad/upset/confused] about [situation/thing/need], and I can help by [doing/saying/being]. Is that right?" Getting the 'combatant' to be clear about their grievance or need is paramount to getting a situation resolved.

If you'd like to know more about this kind of communication technique you can visit this link here.

Happy Confrontations to you all and Blessings for peaceful resolutions.

Happy New Year 2015

Hello everyone! Welcome to a new calender year. I wish you a bright and blessed 2015 full of laughter, fun and harmony.

It has been a while since I have nourished this blog, but this morning, I woke up with memories swirling through my mind about how and why I utilise Flying Stars Feng Shui in my life. The writing up of the Annual Influences Guide 2015 has been coming to a close for the last few weeks, and with the distraction of festivities at this time I've been unable to complete as much work as I felt like. It's been a 'trade-off' between being present for my family or getting other work completed. Being present for my family would always win, and so my mind has had the downtime to mull over the workings of the feng shui I've put in place for social occasions and to help things 'run smoothly'.

In my thoughts I was taken back to about a decade ago when I found that feng shui theory was becoming more and more interesting for me. I'd read all the tit-bits, magazine articles, and pop online to view some of the suggestions for more harmony in life from the well known experts. It was while I was 'searching for harmony' that I came across a lady in my own state who was practicing 'holistic feng shui'...incorporating various aspects of other holistic therapies into the feng shui theory. Buddhism had already caught my attention, and I had been practising meditation, as well as loving up some crystal therapy and aromatherapy too, so the idea of bringing all these things that were familiar to me already into the new avenue of feng shui really appealed!

Our homes are our haven and sanctuary. A place of protection and rejuvenation.

Studying at The Institute of Holistic Feng Shui opened up my life to what I'd like to call 'useable feng shui'...the sort of thing you could easily implement into your daily life and make changes that promoted good outcomes I could notice. This was important to me, because I feel that I am a natural skeptic ... I do need to experience something for it to mean something to me, and with holistic feng shui theory I ended up having many amazing experiences. Here's a list of just a few about the 'basics'...
* clearing away clutter and providing an inviting space in the Wealth Sector of the home (the SE area)  - we won $9000 on a lottery ticket
* clearing away clutter and organising the children's rooms, implementing mantra music and meditation time before bed - our children were able to go to sleep easily and learned to put themselves to sleep, plus, my connection to them improved because of this devoted time spent with them and for them
* using flower essences, music, mantra, incense and aromatherapy on a daily basis increased my level of peace and my ability to navigate through stressful situations when they arose
* cleansing on a physical level led me onto an awakening of my senses, and a higher level of consciousness - I became aware of a world I only remembered from my childhood.

But it wasn't until I'd studied 'Flying Stars Feng Shui' that I really understood the potency of the spaces we inhabit. Houses, to me, until then were just structures that could be affected by energy from the aesthetics, the people who lived there and 'where' they were in a suburb or city or place. However, Flying Stars was going to show me for real what a house's structure combined with it's history and it's construction date could manifest. As I said, I feel I am a born skeptic, so what eventuated was what I now know is 'universal synchronicity'...when forces align to show you something specific. It felt like my world was falling apart, but such things happen so you are able to build anew.
This is the grid of Planet Earth. Each  numeral represents an energy type. Each building has it's own grids for active and passive energy and there is also a grid for the Time Period it is built in as well. Each grid is overlayed and combinations form from this, which are then interpreted. All very simple really yes?

Flying Stars uses the construction date of a home similar to an astrologer would use someone's birth date. Along with the Facing reading (the compass degree the house aligns with), Flying Stars plots a chart of the house's energy grid, which is then interpreted using the same method as the I Ching. Complicated is an understatement when you are learning this method, but to grasp a sense of mastery with interpreting a chart is like seeing the planets for the first time. Magical stuff!

I had just moved house after completing my Advanced Holistic Feng Shui course where I had been introduced to FSFS. I realised that the house I'd moved into was called a 'Fan Yin' chart which is fine in the Time Period (a 20 year period) it is constructed in, but has the unfortunate potential for great disharmony when the next Time Period of 20 years clocks over. I had signed the lease already, and we were moving in just twelve months after the new Time Period had clocked over. To be honest, the possibility of 'problems' didn't seem real to me. Then a few months elapsed, and I began to see what was unfolding. Terror would have to be my first true reaction. Panic was second. Refusal the third. Solution finding with a positive attitude fourth. Complete arrogance of the situation fifth, and then finally the light dawned on what needed to be done. We had to move out. And quickly.

Fan Yin chart houses have the potential to make a 'hemorrhaging of harmony' occur. Health, finances, peace of mind, etc. When problems began to arise I implemented the strategies of the holistic feng shui I had been using at the other home. Things improved slightly, but then 'something else' would tumble into our lives and disrupt our harmony. We had gone through inexplicable ill health problems, traumatic states of mind, utter dis-satisfaction with pretty much every sector of our lives. The crux came when my husband lost the contract for his business' income and our savings went from substantial to being $11000 in debt when we finally moved out. We broke the lease and suffered an extraordinarily difficult 'exit' of that property to our new home. It didn't 'end' till we had finalised some complicated financial problems with the removalists. This symbolically ended our association with the 'Fan Yin House' and we experienced a bloom of good fortune in all levels of our Life Experience at our new place.

I think of what might have become of us as a family if I hadn't had the training and been given the valuable knowledge to perceive what was happening in our lives during that period of time. I'm in awe of the invisible energies that impact our daily lives and grateful to have been connected to the ancient observations of authentic Flying Stars Feng Shui!

What a trip down memory lane the last month has afforded me. A deeper appreciation for the path in life we can be placed on, and a sense of gratitude for all of life's experiences. Some of those dark clouds do contain the fears we are inclined to hide. Once out in the light they can be seen for what they are and then summarily banished, sorted through and rationalised.

Here's to more silver linings and sunshine days full of bright relief for everyone :)

Blessings for the new year and keep and eye out for the new Annual Influences Guide 2015 available on January 15th 2015.

April Feng Shui Forecast - it's sort of an East meets West 'thing'

Welcome to April!
This month's Energy Signature is all 'bi-polar' to say the least. We have a set of influence combinations that can be really (really) troublesome if there is any low level energy about, and a couple that are pure gold if activated 'the right way'. It can herald a period of transformation, extension, and expansion. It might take us places we hadn't planned to travel to 'yet'.

To get the most out of the energy layers for this period starting in the first week of April and running to the first week of May, I suggest that everyone take keen observation of their living and working spaces, and with a critical eye, assess the level of energy present. I'll be writing up a small post about some ideas to follow as a 'step by step' process very soon, so stay tuned, but there are guidelines for decluttering and clearing spaces in the AIG 2014.
For now though, here is the Forecast...

This month, "I float serenely through my life experiences towards a bright and prosperous future"

Here's the Summary from the AIG 2014...
"A great month for anyone who’s business relates to the Arts or creativity of any sort. The ‘Rich & Famous’ combination of the Wealth Stat 8 visits the Annual Star 6 in the Creation sector in the West. This bodes well for anyone who’s deal is creating, working with children or the child-like concepts of wonder and imagination. Enhance the Wealth Star with Fire element representations in Shape and Colour. A similar tone is set for the South with the Annual Wealth Star visited by the Wisdom Star 1. This really propels the Wealth Star into action as it is Earth put in motion to ‘act’ via the emotive Water element of the Star 1. Balance this productive energy with lots of Fire and small amounts of Metal element to really move the Sheng and Ko cyclic energy.
Beware of illness affecting employment or endeavours as the Star 2 of Earth visits the North and is nourished by the Annual Star 9 of Fire. This can see issues of stomach bugs, and indigestion problems relating to ‘fire in the belly’. Fevers relating to digestive system problems can flare up. To alleviate this potential give the area lots of Metal in Shape and Colour, and if it is a bedroom or kitchen then apply the Calabash or Golden Gourd cure.
Not much contemplation happening in the NE if you have a social room or main entrance there. The socializing combination of Vivacious Star 9 and Pleasure seeking Star 7 can really kick up their heels if given a good stage. Great for a Tarot n Tea morning if you’re thinking of something a little more reserved and restrained."
and the Alerts ...
"SE: “ugh” the litigation combination of 5,3 means that if you are involved in contracts, negotiations or any form of litigious communications and doings you will want to play it very quiet and very very correct this month. In fact, if you can get a sick note for the month do so...all the paperwork will be there in June when you’ll have more energetic support to be competitive. Add the Sound of Metal here to soothe and relax. Do ANY paperwork twice and then again with fresh eyes on it. Namaste!

Centre: in matters of employment, this combination can really mean a trying time for anyone in the Authority spectrum. Star 4 is helping everyone realize their true talents, which may or may not correlate with their required daily tasks. Breath deeply. Managers will need to be gently firm with delegation and regulation. And this goes for parents and carers too… Add Water and Pale / Beautiful Fire in equal doses. Add those items that remind you of Patience and Compassion into the Centre… See? It’s so good to recycle isn’t it?"
The April Monthly (bold case number) & Annual Influences Chart - you can find out more about the associations of each number in my manual 'Holistic Feng Shui & Energy Layers' available on the website
So the shimmy of it all is...

  1. if you have a front door / main entrance in the North or West you are in for a busy month, so prepare to get your priorities quickly in order and prepare the spaces here for maximum 'wealth' expansion strategies.
  2. if you have an office in the SW you will be in for a month of intense connection making! 3,1 is the Commerce combination of 3 Wood (Ambition/Preparation/Growth/Competition) being naturally nourished by 1 Water (Wisdom, Ideas, Expression, Danger, Vocation, Career, Life Path). Its big 'go get'em' mojo and manifesting in the Connections sector means there is a potential for extreme burnout, so honour thy energy levels and prosper ;)
  3. if you have an 'important place' like bedroom, front door, home office, office, shop front etc... in the SE then this month sees you exercising extreme caution with all contractual dealings. There is also a potential for any low level energy to affect our sense of Abundance, our perception of our passion in life and our purpose for 'being here'...it can get heavy, so I strongly suggest that you beautify and organise this area this month to be pristine, 'loved up' and nourishing. Cleanse, Clear and keep quiet.

It may seem that for some of us we have a very quiet April to experience (mainly because we'd be 'keeping out of trouble') the other half may be in for a 'hold on tight you're in for the ride of your life' kind of time. Duplicitous energy to say the least...

Blessings for Balance and Prosperity in Perfect Ways

Does the way you work, 'work'? Feng Shui for home or corporate offices.

How often have you had a day where, for some unforeseen reason, your method of work had to change, and, magically, things got done and inspirations were found?
I've been assessing the workspaces of myself, my children, and clients for some time now and decided to put together a little collage to present my findings so far...

You may want to download this pic to read it easily
A - Too fast! Rushing. High expectations. Stress.
B - Analysing. Contemplative. Steady. Organised.
C - A Beautiful Mess. Comfortable Chaos. Getting things ‘done’.
D - Simple, easy, efficient. Enjoyment of task. Enjoyment of achieving.
E - The Creative Space. Visual representation of goals. Easygoing schedules. Known objectives.
F -  Low tech. Mind first. Verbal communication. Insights formed from collaboration.

So first up, the spaces weren't always representational of just one element. Quite often I found a duo or trio of collected traits. And there are many styles of course, but here are a few that I repeatedly see and talk to people about. Take a look and see if you can identify the way you work. Then have a think about your success with that style.

  • Do you maintain a steady achievement of goals?

  • Does success eventuate from your endeavours?

  • Are you particularly stuck in an 'obstacle treadmill' or do you find solutions easily?

  • Do you feel exhausted or uplifted by your work/job/tasks?

Once you've established if your work style is suitable for you by assessing your level of success with it, you can then view this collage below with the suggestions for balancing, supporting or remedying those styles using Five Element (Wu Xing) theory.

A - Type A is emulating the energy of Water & Wood Influences. To bring balance & slow down this overwhelming energy bring Fire element into their work spaces, use Brain Spider diagrams (Fire element in shape) to slow down and visually represent their plans and goals.

B - Type B is harnessing Earth Influence and will be supported with Fire and Wood in their environment to bring a steady flow of energy towards their personal energy. Add a little Metal energy to encourage flexibility and to avoid ‘stagnation’.

C - Type C are involved with the Water Influence and respond well to having Metal element energy implemented in their works pace. Metal gives them clean lines and colours to define their irregular working ways and spaces, yet allows for ‘malleability’ and creative urges.

D - Type D is emulating the energy of Metal...decisive, lineal, on purpose. This is best for all kinds of commerce business, and will be reflected in diligence to task. To support Metal give Earth energy like grounding tools (Earthing mats or grounding crystals to wear. Black Tourmaline, Jet, Black Obsidian) And Water element to encourage some spontaneity.

E - Type E is a combination of Earth and Water influences...an irregular yet grounded view of ideas manifesting. The irregular representation of ’boxes of information’. ‘Harness this with the implementation of Metal & Wood elements to create a space filled with Purpose Growth & Progression.

F - Type F is Metal and Fire influences in malleable ideas and explosions of creativity. It is a combination that produces a plethora of plans that might get out of control. Add Earth to the environment via representations of Nature (Mountains, beautiful rocks, stone statues) to ground the energy and encourage the encapsulation of ideas.
Each style will suit different people and different industries better than others. Some of us will never change the way we work because we are happy with the way we do things. For others who are continually struggling with difficulties, the use of Five Element theory can manifest beautiful change and new success strategies.

Blessings
Jannette

Its fantastic and its free to download now

I've made the AIG 2013 Annual Influences Guide and Calender (www.HolisticTherapyConnections.com) a free download so you can check out just what you'd get for you money with the new 2014 AIG&C in the wings, about ready to be released.

Things will be slightly different this year...I'll be offering it as a pdf download only...you can print it out at leisure if you like, but with so many people now reading on tablet devices of one sort or another, it is a shame to waste so much paper when all one really 'uses' of the AIG is the Calender! ;)

I'll attach a 'donate' button to the Articles and Information page of the website and if you can pop something over in recognition for the work produced I'd really very much appreciate it. The AIG&C takes a good four to six months to collate and contains information on Elemental Balancing, Flying Stars Feng Shui and the like that you'd only find from theory notes from a course. Its a great way to familiarise yourself with terms and diagrams that are commonplace with many Flying Stars Feng Shui courses and texts.

The AIG&C is usually retailed at $50ea with the option of attending a gathering. I can't promise a gathering or speaking engagement this year...so many babies, and so much to attend to in the January & February of each year. Although, if I can, the purchasers of the AIG will be notified straight away! The good news!??? the good news is that the AIG will be MUCH more affordable this year because of its digital format :)

Blessings!
Jannette :)

What your Birth Number or Ming Gua, can tell you about yourself

I've recently been doing more study into Numerology, and finding the correllations between the Nine Stars and their associations quite amazing. I have read that Numerology is based on the Lo Shu Grid, and as this information was given to humanity over 5000 years ago, it is definitely plausible that the two trains of study, Feng Shui and Numerology have their foundations in the one message.

If you are interested in finding out more about the Feng Shui side of things first, I've just uploaded a section of Module 2 of the three manual 'learn at home' set of e-books that I offer through Holistic Therapy Connections for you to have a look at. Enjoy! :)

Birth Numbers and Essential Energy
The year we were born in carries with it an ‘essential energy’. When using Flying Stars Feng Shui we use this information to assist us in placing people in the best areas of a building for sleep and work. Each building has its own energy map based on its orientation and the year it was built. This map of a home can give us information about how to best support the occupants who live here.
The following pages contain interpretations of each Birth Number’s associations, attributes, strengths and weaknesses. There is a positive and negative side to every ‘number’, so it may be that a person shows either a more dominant ‘positive trait’ or ‘negative trait’ disposition in their health and personality. Suggestions for smoothing energy and assisting optimal health are provided.

A diagram of Bodily Associations of the Nine Stars to assist you further with interpretation of personal energy influences is given at the back of these descriptions on page 32 which is included in the downloadable file on the link below.

You will have to find out what your Ming Gua 'is'. Follow the simple formula below to figure that out...
Females: Add the last two digits of your birthyear together and reduce to a single number
16.5.1965
6+5=11=2
Then add this to the number 5
2+5=7
This female person is Ming Gua 7 (or has the Birth Number 7) for Feng Shui purposes.

Males: Add the last two digits of your birthyear together and reduce to a single number (if neccessary)
17.12.1971
7+1=8
Then subtract this number from 10
10-8=2
This male person is Ming Gua 2 (or has the Birth Number 2) for Feng Shui purposes.

When a birthday falls near the changeover of the Solar Cycle, around February 4th the 'Feng Shui New Year' (which is different to the Lunar Cycle Chinese New Year) we have to consult a Chinese calendar to find out when the Solar Cycle began in that year. A common internet 'tool' is a calender converter. This one here is helpful if you need it.
(You will be able to find out which year it falls in by looking at the Zodiac Animal and then calculating the year for that animal)

For example:
A female, born on the 26.1.1973 is born in 1973, but in the 1972 Solar Cycle....so we have to use 7+2 as her birthyear digits. She is therefore a Ming Gua 5, which is also 'tricky' because there Star 5 is not used as a Ming Gua...so you'll need to know that for Females, a resulting Star 5 Ming Gua calculation is moved to a Star 8, and for Males, it is moved to a Star 2. Got that? ;) Of course you do...its easy.

April 2013 Extended Flying Stars Forecast

Hello! Isn't this just the most magical time of year? Here in Southeast Queensland we are finally seeing the kind of weather that makes us all enjoy the outdoors a whole lot more than we thought was possible :) Summer IS fantastic, no denying it, but it can be oppressive, just like the cold of Winter, the intense heat of our High Summer is a time when we seek shelter; not just from the sun but often the storms as well.
From the AIG 2013 Calendar, it is noted that 'The generating New Moon energy [on the 10th] is best used to begin a fortifying regime in readiness for the Autumn weather. 'Nourish Thyself'.'

Bach Flower Essence bland of Rescue Remedy, White Chestnut and Walnut...this month's Special. To order follow this link to the website. Affirmation: "I now sincerely put into action, beneficial changes that increase my Wealth, Health and Harmony"

I've been taking a blend of Bach Flower Rescue Remedy with White Chestnut and Walnut. The White Chestnut with Rescue Remedy is the classic 'Sleep Well' blend and when mixed with Walnut, the flower of Transitions, it assists us to move through stages or cycles with ease, avoiding illness or confusion symptoms. Highly helpful for this time of year and for this month's Centre Palace combination....on special now for $12.95 (+p&h)

From the Annual Influences Guide 2013 -
Summary: A change in the way you Perceive things is blowing through this month. You'll be more concerned with what you love, but conversely you'll be questioning it all. That ol' Confusion combination is in the Centre and its going to be clouding the Clarity of issues. Happily tho' there is Divine help available in Communications. Really needed in relation to Career, employment and such as there is the potential for misunderstandings. Be aware that Health and Family may see something lost or taken. Protection is needed for Children in regards to illness or injury, or it may manifest as a loss of Creative energy due to ill health. The Wealth Star visits the Wealth sector so do please install your desktop water feature of outdoor water feature to this area and sit back to observe the Wealth Opportunities fly in! Biz dealings get a great help up with directed thought enhancing plans in the NE.
Flying Stars Annual and Monthly Influences with Bagua Sectors

Alerts-
East: Potential Loss with Metal 7 (speech/destruction) cutting Wood 3 (planning/ambition). Dismantle this by inputting Fire and Water representations in large doses. Practical security steps again need to be taken.
West: Health issues for children surrounding Mouth, Teeth, Throat illnesses. Take precautions...use Salt Water Cure and Metal element to subdue.
SW: 'Heaven Meets Earth' again! Two months in a row it is manifesting! Beautiful energy to boost with representations of Divine Beings.
NW: Great combination of energy to assist Students or academic progresswith Wisdom and Authority Influences combining in the Progression sector.
As we head into the softer season of Autumn, our thoughts turn usually to readying the garden for this gentler weather, and our homes for the cooler nights. Softness of texture and a boost to comfort levels will ease the transition from the intensity of Summer, and also, it will ease the transition through this 'Fifth Season' period where we are more susceptible to immune system threats. It's probably the best month to get out of the house with that Confusion combination in the Centre Palace. Those who spend a lot of time at work in the Centre of the house would be wise to avoid making important decisions or choices this April, especially so if there are entrances and/or exits in the East and West, as we have potentials for Loss and Creativity problems. BUT, if your Qi is High Quality, :) then you may enjoy a boost of Competitive energy or Ambitious momentum from the East, and from the West perhaps a lot of ideas regarding Creativity 'accumulating' which is another side to the Star 2 Influence...one of Receptivity...you may find yourself in a perpetual state of inspired thought creatively ;]
* Again, ... enhance your practical Security in the East and West this month...personal as well as property *
Colours and Shapes: Dark Blue, Black,White and Metallic colours, Rounded and Curved shapes

This is just the way the Influences work in tandem with a structure, not just rigidly popping into a state of being in a building, but being affected by the architecture, the Form/Purpose/Activity and Beauty of a place.

Read more about 'Form/Purpose/Activity' from Manual 3 'Advanced Charting and Interpretation of Combinations', on the website as a free 'sneak peek' page in the Articles and Info section.

People who are sleeping on the 6,2 combination in the SW may find themselves having profound dreams. This is the Heaven Meets Earth influence of Star 6, Heaven/Father/Authority/Leadership/Assistance with Star 2, Earth/Mother/Receptivity/Accumulation/Connections. Low level Qi may result in unfavourable spiritual activity. Blessing this space with the invitation to Arch Angel Michael for protection, placing Kuan Yin or Artemis here if it is a room of a child or Mother, is helpful when the Qi issue may be unfixable at present, eg: the problem is outside of your property such as a very unsightly mess from a neighbour's garden, or there is something currently unrepairable. Basically, call on Divine Assistance when this combination manifests and observe the synchronicity.
Colours and Shapes: Brown/Beige/Taupe, White and Metallic colours, Hexagonal, Octagonal, Rounded and Curved shapes

South and this passionate Annual Star 4 Wood is visited by the Vivacious Star 9 Fire! I see this as a potential catalyst for anyone sleeping, having a workspace, or having an entrance door, in this sector. If you are not 'doing what you love' you may very well have a massive month of exploring what truly makes your heart sing and your spirit soar :) Maybe you can be true to what your Purpose is Here and Now...
Colours and Shapes:  Red/Pink/Purple/Orange colours, Star, Diamond, Triangular shapes

In the SE and NE we see this beautiful Wealth Star 8 in its Annual position (NE) and Monthly manifestation (SE). Both combinations are Earth 8 with a Wood energy...this is the 'controlling cycle' again so we see Wealth issues 'pushed into action' and the result will be ???...only your level of Qi can determine that. Set high standards with constant striving (the SE's natural influence) and you may come out of April ever so slightly burnt out, yet pacing yourself, and allowing time for Reflection and Contemplation (using the NE's natural influence) will assist you in coming through with successes to enjoy and more plans to continue with.
Colours and Shapes: Red/Pink/Purple/Orange colours, Hexagonal, Octagonal, Square or Rectangular shapes.

5,1 combination in the North sees potential for misunderstandings as Star 5 Earth is sometimes uncomfortable when in this 'controlling cycle' combination with the Star 1 Water. What can result is the Ideas/Expressions of people are met with a condition of 'contraryness' by others ('you say white, I'll say black'). Its the ol' 'be ready for change' aspect of Star 5 at work. Perhaps a bit of reverse psychology is necessary? ;)
Colours and Shapes: White and Metallic colours; Rounded and Curved shapes

This just leaves the NW to consider, with the natural influence of creating 'Perfect Synchronicity', the Water Star 1 manifests during April to draw assistance from the Metal Star 6. This can unfold as a person receiving assistance from a Mentor or Governing body to help with some form of Expression. Grants for artistic or acadmic purposes are just one favourable outcome of a combination like this. SO! if you have an office or workspace in this area it is highly beneficial to use. If not, place forms of communication here like an iPad/Tablet, PC, phone, notebook and pen, bookcase, radio or TV. Anything that can act as a conduit for information :)
Colours and Shapes: Dark Blue, Black, White and Metallic colours; Wavy/Irregular, Rounded and Curved shapes

After the Full Moon on the 26th the Waning Moon takes away what we no longer need. The coming of Autumn is a time to reflect upon what our forebears left us in terms of Wisdom. The 30th sees us in the Southern Hemisphere celebrating Samhain or All Hallows Eve, and in the Northern Hemisphere the celebration of Beltaine and the coming of Spring :)

Happy April! :) Flying Stars change over in the first week of each month. Take some time to evaluate your property and make some changes to enjoy High Quality Qi Flow :) !

Blessings

What makes Harmony?

Contemplation is a Wealth to be indulged on a regular basis

  • A Balance of influences
  • A Wealth of enthuisiasm and inspiration
  • Healthy attitudes to nourishment of all kinds

It is a combination of providing all three major states of Being with enough nourishment for them to thrive. These three major states of Being are referred to as the 'Cosmic Trinity' in Flying Stars Feng Shui theory....

  • Human Chi needs good physical nourishment, exercise and social pursuits.
  • Earth Chi needs clean environmental considerations, maintenance and ethical consuming of resources.
  • Heaven Chi requires connection, contemplation and wonder.

When all three states are given a balanced amount of energy input, Harmony prevails, and our Life Experience reveals Wealth, Health and Happiness.

A Holistic Feng Shui Assessment is much more than the interpretation of your chart (which is only a part of the Earth Chi in the whole equation of your Life Experience). It provides you with advice and suggestions for shifting negative Qi out of your body, mind, home or business, and establishing a new Energy Grid to base your life on. Its very much like drawing up a blueprint.

To read more about Feng Shui, Holistic Health suggestions and advice or Flying Stars Feng Shui, use the Search on this blog or contact me direct via the website to ask for something specific. You can also read more about the 'Cosmic Trinity' of Heaven, Human and Earth in the Manuals 1,2 and 3 available to order as a pdf or printed and bound booklet.

2013 The Year of Pure Potential

Here we are! IN 2013 :) I wish all good things for you and our societies here on Earth. Sending Blessings for the regeneration of Heart Energy all around the globe, hoping sincerely that this year sees more and more people living from their Heart Centre and making choices based on Love. Feels like something *big* is brewing ...and there's a very good reason for that ;)

We are entering a Time where not only is the Ruling Influence Star 5, but also that of The Snake in Chinese Astrology.
Annual Influences Guide 2013. Available as a hard copy or pdf download

Star 5 is the only Star without a Trigram (three lined drawing representing a 'type of energy' used by the ancient Chinese) and so is a represetation of The Void. Flying Stars Feng Shui in ancient Mandarin is Xuan Kong Fei Xing Pai, which translates (somewhat) to 'Mysterious Void Flying Star School'. So this year we enter a Time where the Ruling Influence is one straight from the Mysterious Void, the birthplace of Matter, for that is where the symbol of the YinYang originates too...from a pinprick of Matter within the Mysterious Void the Duality is created. 'Pure Potential' you see... Flying Stars is the oldest tradition of Feng Shui and uses the fundamentals of the Trigrams' associations to track energy influences.

Flying Stars Feng Shui tracks energy Influences on a galactic scale, interpreting them via the use of the nine square grid called the Lo Shu, it is also the basis of Bagua Feng Shui, which you're probably more familiar with. Each year we have a new 'Ruling Influence' called a Star, and this year we have Star 5 as the Ruling Star Influence. Star 5 is associated with Change, to put it simply. Its also associated in traditional Chinese Feng Shui as 'The Devil of Ferocity' (!).  Heavy huh? This influence is said to be responsible for perceived obstacles, injuries, uncomfortable circumstances of all kinds...etc...a real 'bad dude' kind of rap don't you think?

In Bagua Feng Shui the Centre Palace, or simply, The Centre, is the sector we look at for Grounding our homes or buildings, our Lives, or when emotional flux is evident in a person's life on any of the three levels....Heaven (Spiritual), Human (Physical) and Earth (Environmental). This year we will benefit from adding lots of Metal element to the Centre of our buildings to bring Balance and Stability to our lives. The Sound of Metal is the most potent form of this element and thankfully the easiest to 'install'. Simply play some beautiful piano music every day (or a bit of trancey dancey bell and gong ambient stuff perhaps...). Hang a beautiful metal windchime indoors and have it sing each time you pass it by. Bells that catch the wind...opportunities abound ;)

And what of The Snake? The Snake in traditional Chinese Astrology is known for its Wisdom, Adeptness, Resourcefullness, Aloofness and its efficient ferocity when needed. Yes, we fear The Snake, but every culture on Earth has at some time used it for Medicine of one kind or another, and, revered it for its association with Rebirth and Regeneration. (snakes shed their skin and seem to 'begin anew')

So this year brings with it a mixed message...one of Change, obviously, but one that allows YOU the power to apply Change in a positive way to your whole life and existence.

Sarva Mangalam 'May All Be Auspicious'

The Annual Influences Guide 2013 and Calender is in production right now, ready in a few days time. You'll be able to download it as a pdf delivered to your email, or, order it as a hard copy to hang up at home and refer to when needed :) Stay tuned for the announcement of 'its ready!' very soon :)

Flying Stars Feng Shui Forecast for October

This month the energy of Star 9, Angel of Vivacity and Vigour, comes to visit. Yippee! :) Having it visit and team up with the already chatty Annual Star 7 of Pleasure and Joy can mean you could seriously end up having a great time!! :D Lets see what else is happening by following the energy influence priority trail this month from compass sector to compass sector.

First up, the SW Connections (Relationships and Marriage) has the sometimes controversial pairing of the Annual Star 4 (Passionate/Romantic/Academic) with the Monthly visitor Star 6 (Authority/Leadership). These two can clash if the Qi is low vibe, so to help things along it is best to set the intention towards your desired outcome with all Connections of importance in your life, and then make your environment in this SW sector reflect that. (just as with all Feng Shui intention)
Tip: Enhance and Uplift with 'beautiful water', think soft and luxuriously textured dark blue cushions or a deep pile rug. A lusciously 'deep water' painting or poster for this area may also be an idea. No physical running water tho'... ie: no desktop fountain or feature.

Moving onto the West and the Star 2 comes to be nourished from the Annual Star 9. The west has benefited from this inspirational energy influence so far, and will be in 'propelled' mode while it 'feeds' Star 2 this month.
Tip: Definitely a month to write down plans and 'great ideas' that spring to mind. Star 2 is Earth energy but also connected to the digestive system so do watch out for indigestion or something similar, especially if this is your Dining or Kitchen area. A Salt Water Cure may be favourable if you have any uncomfortable symptoms from the Star 2's influence.

In the East the unfortunate pairing of the Annual Star 5 with the visiting Star 7 can really mean problems for all communication. Mostly to do with Family, so avoid confrontation, gossip or talking behind someone's back, as the consequences while usually unfavourable for this kind of thing will be magnified this month. Also, take notice of oral health and respiratory health as Star 7 is associated with the Teeth, Mouth and Thorax.
Tip: Keep the Metal Remedies in place and boost with a metal wind chime, or more Metal representations if needed. (Round, globular objects or shapes in Metallic colours from White, Pewter, Silver, Gold and Iridescent )

The NE has a helpful combination for business with the 3 Star (Competitive) and the 1 Star (Wisdom, Expression, Ideas) teaming up in the Contemplation sector. Be ready and open to receive insights that may help you achieve the edge in any business proposition. It can also be used for domestic maneuvering if necessary ;)
Tip: Use a beautiful float bowl with Pale Fire coloured flowers or float candles to inject the Water and Pale Fire representation. You could also use a print of cherry blossoms and a flowing stream...

The SE is the Growth and Wealth sector and can assist with your sense of Abundance. This month is a corker of an influence combination called 'Rich and Famous' :) Noice! Star 8, the monthly Wealth Star comes to visit the Annual Star 6. This combination of Stability (and wealth 'luck') in combination with Authority and Leadership can greatly assist people on a business and personal level with financial or abundance issues. Think 'What is my forte? Where are my personal strengths? What am I admired for?" and move towards those things for making you feel fulfilled and successful.
Tip: Enhance, enhance, enhance with Fire element of beautiful gemstone specimens like Amethyst Geodes, Rhodonite slabs or a bowl of Garnet tumbled stones to run your fingers through. YUMMY! Throw a red rug on the floor or over the couch. Drape a red scarf on the window frame...you get the picture...liven it up!

The South sector is all about our Perceptions and commonly called the Fame and Reputation sector. This month we'll more than likely be considering our True Passions once again with the arrival of the Star 4. When it teams up in combo with Star 2 it can bring some friction between the children and Mother figure in the household. I'd suggest ruminating on the perceived challenges and finding avenues of solution...
Tip: Keep Metal Remedies and Salt Water Cures in place to subdue the Annual Star 2. Assist your nourishing energy with natural remedies like Chamomile, Astragalus, Fennel for courage, and have a bottle of Rescue Remedy on hand! :)

The Centre, as mentioned is the party zone. Potentially. It could just as easily be 'inflamed throat' combination if there is low level Qi anywhere...9 is Fire, 7 is Throat/Thorax. Low level energy produces low level experience. High level energy ie: Fabulous Qi Flow = Beautiful Experiences...like a party where you talk and talk and talk all the time, make wonderful connections with people and have a satisfying use of time and energy. The kind of party you look back on in a month's time and smile about. The kind of gathering which inspires similar occasions....yah?
Tip: Balance this combination with Water and Wood representations.

The North, Vocation (Career and Life Purpose) takes a whack with the communique and contractual fuq-up combination of 5,3. No other way of putting it...it means you need to go over paperwork again, and again, and then once more. Make sure you 'know your stuff' before signing papers, or put it off till next month if possible.
Tip: SUBDUE and dismantle the energy combination using Metal and lots of it! You can also combo your remedy for the distraction method using Water representations mixed with Pale Fire. Water distracts the Star 5 and Pale Fire weakens the Star 3. THE BEST REMEDY for this is the Wealth Bringer Bowl with a few floating pink flowers in it to 'make it beautiful'. A Wealth Bringer Bowl is placed in areas affected unfavourably by a Star 5 or Star 5 combo. Use a metal bowl filled with clean water. Clean out the water and replace it each day or each second day to keep it's energy high. Lace with essential oils like Lemon, Frankincense or Basil for purification.

Finally the NW is High Quality Qi with both the Angel Star 1 and the Angel Star 8 (also this year's Wealth Star) in a high energy exchange. Star 1 is Water element and Star 8 Earth. On the cycle of elements Earth (Stability) 'controls' Water (Expression), as in it exerts influence and propels it into action! "From a place of pure stability I express my true wisdom" Using this to your advantage in the sector of Progression (Travel and Helpful People) can really assist both business and Personal Growth endeavours. A course? A greatly recommended book? A get together with prospective clients? All are favoured this month in the NW sector.
Tip: Boost with the elemental representations of both Water and Metal.

This new month begins on the 9th and I'll be moving house. Good omen or bad? Well, with the current 'no conracts' thing beginning on the 9th I'm very happy to be signing my contracts the week before this :) yay! With the 'happy happy party party' vibe coming to the Centre Palace I'm pleased to be moving into a place with an uncrowded Centre Palace and a beautiful aspect to the SE which I can take advantage of. I will however, be placing my Wealth Bringer Bowl outside my front door in the North...gotta keep the Qi UP! :)

Beautiful Blessings for an Outstanding October everyone!

I wanna build a bonfire...

...a HUGE one, built out of all the things I want to ignite in my life.

Usually bonfires are associated with the ritual of burning off 'stuff' we no longer need, and the symbolic meaning of returning unhappy events' energy back to the ethers for recycling into good mojo for the next turn of Time, but it doesn't have to be this always. Gypsy people have a saying, 'make fire your friend', because fire, the ignition of energy into heat and light, brings us comfort, the ability to be warmed, see clearly in darkness ... and that inner-radiance that we carry recognises the Energy Signature of a built fire. It says 'hello friend' :)

I suppose this idea of 'building a bonfire' is akin to beginning a vibrational frequency of thought+spirit+intent and allowing it to expand, bloom and flourish.

  1. Firstly, what is my bonfire's purpose? To ignite and establish a beginning point for some of my true passions.
  2. Secondly, to create a community of support where we all help each other 'feed our inner radiance, and grow our bonfires'.
  3. Thirdly to create the catalytic energy required for real change.

I can't imagine doing something like this solely for myself anymore. Everything I do now is tuned towards creating a greater awareness for many people...as many people who can connect to it as possible.

So what's my bonfire primarily made of? :) I love to think of each intention, thought, dream and spirit wish as a stick or log that I bring to the pile. Each one will become part of the intense heat of expression I release. So for now I'm building my pile. I've got sticks that are for Love, and Health, and Peace. The usual deals ;) Then bigger logs the size of tree branches for Life Purpose, Actualising Self Sufficiency, Providing Security for my Family and more...it'll take time to refine my intentions so I feel they are in Perfect Alignment with my true self's journey here and now. Some of these additions to my bonfire will take a while to burn fully, and when spent, will indicate the successful completion of that intention into manifestation. Others will provide immediate warmth and a glow that will make me smile and sigh with contentment :)

I'd love to know about your bonfire, its purpose and how you're building it. Bonfires of this kind aren't for burning off 'stuff', they are for transforming latent energy into Ecstatic Light! Remove associations with 'I don't want this anymore', and bring to your bonfire the energies of, 'I wish to attract THIS'. Positive Affirmation junkies (or nerds...if you will) can enjoy this kind of exercise, and for others it is a way of transforming thought processes from negatives to positives.

That's always an 'enLIGHTening' thing to achieve, ...it 'FIRES UP' your enthusiasm, ... provides 'KINDLING' for your future success ;)....alright...stopping now ;P

If you'd like to become part of the community supporting each other's bonfires, you can comment on the blogpost or join me on FB on my personal page or the biz page for HolisticTherapyConnections. (I'm also on Twitter too...social media is a great way of connecting)

To begin, add your first one or few 'sticks' to your bonfire. You might even like to name your bonfire...'Harold' or 'Mary'... or something more evocatively appropriate like 'Ignatious' 'Eldred', 'Seraphine', 'Eithne' or 'Enya' ... all names that have associations with fire, flame or spiritual fires. My bonfire is called 'Gypsy' because this is where I first began to learn about fire as a friendly thing instead of fearing it. This word, 'gypsy' has so many associations in regards to freedom, knowledge, healing, walking outside of the mainstream, the natural world, strength, fierceness, and community for me that it became my fire's name immediately. So, 'Gypsy' has its first few sticks and branches, and I feel the need to provide more kindling...I need some 'crunchy stuff' for it to consume right away...
oooooh! there you go... I do feel an Intention or two for the coming few weeks emerging :) ...

Blessings for Radiant Manifestation!
