We are entering a Time where not only is the Ruling Influence Star 5, but also that of The Snake in Chinese Astrology.
Annual Influences Guide 2013. Available as a hard copy or pdf download |
Star 5 is the only Star without a Trigram (three lined drawing representing a 'type of energy' used by the ancient Chinese) and so is a represetation of The Void. Flying Stars Feng Shui in ancient Mandarin is Xuan Kong Fei Xing Pai, which translates (somewhat) to 'Mysterious Void Flying Star School'. So this year we enter a Time where the Ruling Influence is one straight from the Mysterious Void, the birthplace of Matter, for that is where the symbol of the YinYang originates too...from a pinprick of Matter within the Mysterious Void the Duality is created. 'Pure Potential' you see... Flying Stars is the oldest tradition of Feng Shui and uses the fundamentals of the Trigrams' associations to track energy influences.
Flying Stars Feng Shui tracks energy Influences on a galactic scale, interpreting them via the use of the nine square grid called the Lo Shu, it is also the basis of Bagua Feng Shui, which you're probably more familiar with. Each year we have a new 'Ruling Influence' called a Star, and this year we have Star 5 as the Ruling Star Influence. Star 5 is associated with Change, to put it simply. Its also associated in traditional Chinese Feng Shui as 'The Devil of Ferocity' (!). Heavy huh? This influence is said to be responsible for perceived obstacles, injuries, uncomfortable circumstances of all kinds...etc...a real 'bad dude' kind of rap don't you think?
In Bagua Feng Shui the Centre Palace, or simply, The Centre, is the sector we look at for Grounding our homes or buildings, our Lives, or when emotional flux is evident in a person's life on any of the three levels....Heaven (Spiritual), Human (Physical) and Earth (Environmental). This year we will benefit from adding lots of Metal element to the Centre of our buildings to bring Balance and Stability to our lives. The Sound of Metal is the most potent form of this element and thankfully the easiest to 'install'. Simply play some beautiful piano music every day (or a bit of trancey dancey bell and gong ambient stuff perhaps...). Hang a beautiful metal windchime indoors and have it sing each time you pass it by. Bells that catch the wind...opportunities abound ;)
And what of The Snake? The Snake in traditional Chinese Astrology is known for its Wisdom, Adeptness, Resourcefullness, Aloofness and its efficient ferocity when needed. Yes, we fear The Snake, but every culture on Earth has at some time used it for Medicine of one kind or another, and, revered it for its association with Rebirth and Regeneration. (snakes shed their skin and seem to 'begin anew')
So this year brings with it a mixed message...one of Change, obviously, but one that allows YOU the power to apply Change in a positive way to your whole life and existence.
