2009 - A Flying Stars Overview

This coming year has a tangible feel of excitement, which is probably down to the new Annual Star 9, ‘The Angel of Vivacity and Vigour’! Star 9 is the ‘middle daughter’ energy, Trigram ‘Li’, which is one broken line inbetween two unbroken lines. This depicts instability within stability. Fire is strong but essentially unstable, so it is used with care and perceived as a ‘power’ to be exerted by the experienced or with caution. The instability within symbolises the danger in using this powerful force.

In the Bagua ‘Li’ is the South and the sector that resonates with our Reputation, sometimes called ‘Fame’ sector. Our reputations govern a lot of our interactions, mostly with other people, but also as the voice within that ‘defines’ our inner personality. (could this voice be our consciousness?) This year could well see us looking into ‘who we are’ and how we are perceived in general. We may spend quality time actually identifying ourselves, our True nature, and a correct identity that fits in with what we want our life and actions to display. Wouldn’t it be fantastic to actually get clear on that! 2008 had the Star 1 of Wisdom and Ideas pushing us to express ourself, even if that seemed dangerous, and now 2009 wants us to explore what we discovered via all that ‘wisdom’.

As a run up to the potentially momentous 2012 year, it would be a great thing to achieve a more truthful existence that enables our Divine Being to resonate wholly and with complete integrity. “What is the human being I am? What do I feel I am here to achieve? What is my significant purpose?” These questions, although oblique perhaps, are meant to provoke deep contemplation of ‘who you are’. Yep, it isn’t just going to be ‘fireworks and champagne bubbles’ all year long just because we have an influence that likes to party. I feel that this year will be helpful to anyone wishing to ‘burn away’ parts of their Life that no longer serve or support them, and the Future they are willing themselves into. In short, I think this year is about real Freedom. The ability to achieve Freedom by removing what we are NOT.

Generally, this year may also bring lots of ‘opportunities for future wealth’, simply because Star 9 is the Future Wealth Star in this current Period 8 time span from 2004 to 2024. But! Star 9 is also the exuberant one, so all business or financial opportunities should be dissected with an objective head as always. It is interesting for me to see that the February monthly energies are also following the ‘basic earth energy’ pattern of the ‘Lo Shu’ grid, used in Flying Stars Feng Shui. This pattern shows the general energy emitted from or received from each particular direction, before any structure is built upon the earth. It is also the basis of the Bagua sector energies too, so there is a real resonance to the Earth energy in February, which is nothing strange at all coming into a year that in Chinese Astrology is a ‘Earth / Earth Ox’ year! Generally it means with two of the same energy influences in the one year there is a possibility of great competition, or great communion. We can always work with those who are similar to us, however sometimes this can cause clashes if we feel threatened in our own ‘Being’ (here we go with Reputation and significance again). Sometimes it can be difficult to be a part of something even just a pair, if we are not fully confident in our Self and our Strengths. No need to fear this potential because if you do find yourself in a situation like this in 2009 you can be sure the other party is also feeling a little unsure too. ‘A common ground’ springs to mind as the perfect mantra for a situation like this.

Main Influences for you to know about are:

The Southeast! The Annual Wealth Sector!! Beautiful and abundant Star 8 is an Earth energy and will love to be supported with Fire/Earth representations. As a wealth energy too you can activate it with running water like a desk fountain or outdoor water feature in this area.

The West has the Annual Star 2 which will be where you want to hang metal wind chimes or put your Salt Water Cure into if you start to experience problems related to Health. Some people will feel better if they just put something in place to ‘prevent’ any ill-health.

Star 5 is located in the North this year which may see a change in Career orientation or pursuit. It can also be perceived as ‘problems’ in a career, but as the Star 5 energy is all about change, it is best to step back and take a broad view of the happenings to gain the best angle and what is the most appropriate course of action. Place the ‘Wealth Bringer’ bowl outside in the North to alleviate this particular influence if it becomes way too pushy or uncomfortable.

The Grand Duke is in the NE this year, so do not face NE (the first 15˚ of NE) while working for any significant period of time.

The Three Sha or the ‘Conflict Sectors’ are in the East, so it makes for a tricky orientation work-wise as facing the Three Sha is most favourable. DO NOT sit with your back to the East during 2009 for any significant periods of time or for any important work. This has the potential to bring loss in three ways. Loss of Health, Loss of Wealth, Loss of Harmony. Basically high level Chi will drain away, and this is never a good thing! Find an orientation facing East, Southeast or South for the best solution.

A year of exuberant socialising, deep personal significance, and future optimism awaits you!
Align yourself perfectly to take advantage of the optimum influences that will support your endeavours, and achieve beautiful successes whatever you do.
