Clean Water Projects to better health for any population :) (part of my Build a Bonfire article collection)

I've often given time and energy towards charity groups ensuring the health and well-being of populations at risk of disease. One thing I did stop doing is giving support to charities that have large scale immunisation schedules for these at risk populations. While I agree that there is a case for immunisation, I want it to be far, far less risky than at present for me to actually be a part of giving this kind of medical support to at risk communities.
But what's the alternative? How can we be of service to the global community and be responsible advocates of good health choices if we put our time, effort and money towards agendas that can potentially be harmful to the people we are hoping to help?

I did a little research on this a while ago and found myself at the World Health Organisation website...take a look at what I found...

"Vaccination has greatly reduced the burden of infectious diseases. Only clean water, also considered to be a basic human right, performs better..." WHO

This article from the WHO is just mind-blowing in its implications that the vaccine risks are getting 'better press' than the vaccine benefits... honestly never read such a load of cleverly veiled confessions of inadequacy... ;}

If today, for some awful reason, you and I were pressured by cirucumstance to enter a refugee camp, undergo weeks of trauma, nutrional deprivation, clean water deprivation and subsquent illness...would the first thing you want from a medical assitance operative be a shot in the arm full of potentially toxic chemical and biological soup? or perhaps you'd prefer them to spend some money on security, nutrition, sanitation and a clean water source...? Yeah ;[ ...and this is a very obscure ending to any 'argument' piece...

Good clean water and food, plus effective and maintained sanitation systems, including good public health opportunities, is the way to good public health, and will have nothing to do with percieved social inequities including poverty. Its not just communities affected by war, political upheaval, drought, floods, or some other traumatic event, sometimes its just a community that has for some reason gradually lost their water supply due to intensive agriculture, or global climate change over the last three to five decades. Sometimes communities can be re-invigorated by spending less time and effort in the collection of water for daily survival. 'Charity:Water' are one organisation dedicated to this particular outline of service.

"Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Children are especially vulnerable, as their bodies aren't strong enough to fight diarrhea, dysentery and other illnesses.

90% of the 30,000 deaths that occur every week from unsafe water and unhygienic living conditions are in children under five years old. The WHO reports that over 3.6% of the global disease burden can be prevented simply by improving water supply, sanitation, and hygiene."

I don't get anything from supporting them except the satisfaction that my monetary assistance is being put to great use for a simple commodity that I take for granted in my country. Its also a commodity that ensures that with good nutrition I can help to keep my family disease free and living a life full of infinite potential.



At my home I've changed the way I use water. Since the introduction of flouridated water in my municipal supply I changed to drinking and cooking using pure spring water.  Then I've been able to find a flouride filter and can now enjoy the tap water without a load of chemicals in it, plus the filter also gets out other nasties that communities at risk deal with all the time. It again makes me grateful for the place I live in ;) I have access to help and products that other women looking after their babies do not have. And I think this is where I feel the need to assist. Feeling empathy for that mother somewhere in the world who is just simply wanting to care for her family, and she has this overwhelming challenge to overcome,...yet I can walk down my hallway and turn a tap on in my kitchen. It hits me in the heart for these families, and it takes so little to be a part of the solution! :)

June Holistic Feng Shui Forecast

Hello and welcome to our chilly but gloriously beautiful Winter in the Southern Hemisphere.
This month begins on the Waning Moon, and we can all tap into this natural outflow of energy over the next week to clear out our home and businesses of any clutter for a great Pre-Solstice cleansing!

This month sees a couple of real curve balls in the form of 'uncomfortable combinations' of influences...and the Centre Palace has one of them, the other is the East...both relate to our Health or have a direct impact upon our Health. So there is the 'heads up' for June. Take time to look after yourself and those who you know who may require your assistance. Reconnect with what you see your life as in its highest form...

On a planetary scale, we see that Authority (Government) is going to have an impact upon our Human Passion, that is, our ability or freedom to do what we love, to have self expression. This is evident in the hushed up riots in so many parts of the globe right now. The People are amassing and rebelling against systems that no longer give us support. Government is for The People, not there to enforce our dutiful submission. Deep breaths everyone.

Family and Health is tied up with constraints regarding any sense of Preparation or 'ignition' of life. And in the Centre, the very thing that gives us 'Voice' in a physical sense (Star 7 is related to the Throat and Speech)  is potentially maligned by the influences of Change. I hope these changes come in swiftly on the wings of supportive and protective Angels for those who are in need.

On a practical note: if you sleep in the South, East, or SW, do input a Salt Water Cure if you haven't already, and take the time to fortify your immune system with gentle purification and release of any habits, behaviours or dietary intakes that harm your health. You know what I say, "Its often not about what you can add to your life, but what you can do without that will make all the difference" ;)

"A month to be cautious about how you speak and are spoken of. We have multiple combinations that will not help low level speech of any kind. There is a potential for business dealings to be affected by uncomfortable competition and conflict; for humans to suffer with Teeth, Mouth and Throat complaints and for some Depression or Melancholy to surface too.

SE: Authority may interfere or be unfavourably involved in your True Passion or sense of Abundance. Seek to have all information in order with integrity.

Simple Space Clearings done on the dark moon (now) before the New Moon on the 9th of June will be enormously positive for the upcoming Solstice on the 21st and 22nd of June. Release what no longer serves your best interest, and then at Solstice invite in all your intentions for the rest of the year with a small ceremony or blessing ritual.

What your Birth Number or Ming Gua, can tell you about yourself

I've recently been doing more study into Numerology, and finding the correllations between the Nine Stars and their associations quite amazing. I have read that Numerology is based on the Lo Shu Grid, and as this information was given to humanity over 5000 years ago, it is definitely plausible that the two trains of study, Feng Shui and Numerology have their foundations in the one message.

Birth Numbers and Essential Energy
The year we were born in carries with it an ‘essential energy’. When using Flying Stars Feng Shui we use this information to assist us in placing people in the best areas of a building for sleep and work. Each building has its own energy map based on its orientation and the year it was built. This map of a home can give us information about how to best support the occupants who live here.
The following pages contain interpretations of each Birth Number’s associations, attributes, strengths and weaknesses. There is a positive and negative side to every ‘number’, so it may be that a person shows either a more dominant ‘positive trait’ or ‘negative trait’ disposition in their health and personality. Suggestions for smoothing energy and assisting optimal health are provided.

A diagram of Bodily Associations of the Nine Stars to assist you further with interpretation of personal energy influences is given at the back of these descriptions on page 32 which is included in the downloadable file on the link below.

You will have to find out what your Ming Gua 'is'. Follow the simple formula below to figure that out...
Females: Add the last two digits of your birthyear together and reduce to a single number
16.5.1965
6+5=11=2
Then add this to the number 5
2+5=7
This female person is Ming Gua 7 (or has the Birth Number 7) for Feng Shui purposes.

Males: Add the last two digits of your birthyear together and reduce to a single number (if neccessary)
17.12.1971
7+1=8
Then subtract this number from 10
10-8=2
This male person is Ming Gua 2 (or has the Birth Number 2) for Feng Shui purposes.

When a birthday falls near the changeover of the Solar Cycle, around February 4th the 'Feng Shui New Year' (which is different to the Lunar Cycle Chinese New Year) we have to consult a Chinese calendar to find out when the Solar Cycle began in that year. A common internet 'tool' is a calender converter. This one here is helpful if you need it.
(You will be able to find out which year it falls in by looking at the Zodiac Animal and then calculating the year for that animal)

For example:
A female, born on the 26.1.1973 is born in 1973, but in the 1972 Solar Cycle....so we have to use 7+2 as her birthyear digits. She is therefore a Ming Gua 5, which is also 'tricky' because there Star 5 is not used as a Ming Gua...so you'll need to know that for Females, a resulting Star 5 Ming Gua calculation is moved to a Star 8, and for Males, it is moved to a Star 2. Got that? ;) Of course you do...its easy.
