Walnut essence is one of the best ‘discoveries’ I have made recently. I tried it out with my baby for general ‘soothing’ into the change from womb to world, and it made significant impact on her in that it did calm her energy. I started to take it as well to help me move from my ‘working mode’ to my ‘mother at home mode’, and it did also help with this transition. The recent home relocation was assisted greatly by taking Walnut essence, and I don’t know how I would have come through moving house with three children without it!

Transitions and Travelling are the main Energy Signature of the Walnut essence. (Walnut is one of the essences contained in my ‘Transitioning’ blend) It assists with a smooth flow of energy from one state to another, so that bumps are rolled over and not crashed into :)
Using it in tandem with Rescue Remedy after my baby’s birth enabled me to soothe several layers of energy at once, instilling the restorative Energy Signature of Rescue Remedy with the smoothing signature of Walnut. Together they work beautifully!

Now we are taking it to combat this next phase of teething and weaning, and it is helping out immensely again. The first time I began this blend for teething with little miss Angelina Petal she slept for 6hrs straight! Bliss indeed after a three week stretch of waking 3 to 4 times a night!
I know this remedy has also helped children cope with starting school, or learning a new task. It enables the elderly or frail to cope with convalescence after illness or surgery. Talk to me today about how Walnut might help you by emailing or phoning me direct.

Sleeping under a window, is it 'bad feng shui'?

Assessing energy flow in homes is a huge part of what I do as a Feng Shui Practitioner, and a lot of issues come about for people due to sleep problems. It is a vicious circle where lack of sleep, or interrupted sleep becomes responsible for a lowered immune system which leads to ill health, or low level concentration which results in accidents and injuries. Then the person starts to feel that ‘things are going wrong’ and seeks out assistance. This is not to say all problems begin in the bedroom, its just that a lot of them do.

I am often asked whether it is ok to have a bed head underneath a window. A lot of modern homes have high windows in the Master Bedroom where the bed head is most appropriately positioned. Sleeping under a window has been described as inviting Yang (rushing) energy in, and it has the effect of disturbing our energy in slumber. We may also be generally disturbed by noises, drafts, smells and a general lack of secure feeling if we sleep underneath an open window. However, an open window is vastly different to a closed window with the blinds and curtains drawn! It is the energy being created that needs to be observed. And a high small window is different to a low, wide window too.

Generally, the answer is ‘no’, its not beneficial to sleep under an open window, because of the Yang energy of it. But what do you do if you cannot change the configuration of your bedroom furniture? I know that many people are aware of the ‘feng-shui cure’ of hanging a Clear Quartz crystal in the window above a bed, but I fail to see how this will reduce the Yang energy of the open window….especially when Clear Quartz is an amplifier of energy...and therefore I observe that it would amplify any energy coming through that window. One must always program the crystal to deflect the energy or absorb it, as Clear Quartz is readily programmable and highly potent for ‘consciously directing energy’. The best solution to having a window behind your bed is to have a good solid bed head. This energetically ‘supports’ you while you sleep. Or to close the window at night and pull the blind down or draw the curtains closed. This is sufficient to reduce the Yang energy of a window behind the bed head.

Yang energy of rushing Chi created by something like ceiling fans is also unbeneficial, but in our tropical climate ceiling fans are often a necessity to be able to sleep comfortably during the heat of Summer. So how do you balance out the Yang energy of a situation like this?

Creating a Yin Space for beneficial sleep
A Bedroom should give an overall Yin appeal. Yin is soft, secure, nurturing, calm, restorative, quiet, comfortable and restful. During the day a bedroom can be utilised as a quiet place to study or read or as a play-space for children, but these activities need to be able to be ‘disappeared’ come sleepy-time! To bring about good quality sleep can radically change the health and wellbeing of a whole family. Accessing restorative rest is essential for a healthy immune system and good quality concentration, and without it problems ensue and can create too many roll on effects.
In this modern lifestyle, where homes need to serve many purposes, the configuration of a bedroom can sometimes be jeopardised by the need to create a space that is a retreat from the rest of the house. This should mean that it is a Sanctuary, yet it often translates to becoming a multi-function room with items like exercise bikes, rowing machines under the bed, study desks in the corner, and TV and associated paraphernalia on top of dressing tables. A ’bolt-hole’ against the world outside, yet this is in no way good for your health or the feng-shui of your house.

When I am told “I can’t move my bedroom around” to configure it beneficially, it is generally because there is too much stuff in there that should not be in a bedroom! And, with the ’stuff’ removed, a beautiful space is revealed. There may also be a underlying need to ’do’ your own bedroom and not be told how it should be. This is a waste of energy, as the benefits from a well-configured bedroom are immense and will give back so much to you over time that it is a good exchange to give over control and accept some guidance.

Next Month: “Water at my front door is lucky”, well is it?

Connections - July 09

First up, so sorry about not putting in a warning about the Mercury Retrograde (May 7 to 30). I suppose I was in denial, hoping if I didn’t put too much emphasis on it then it might just pass me by. But no. It did not. :(

Then again, in May I was looking on the bright side of the Star 2 Monthly Star being nourished by the Annual Star 9 as a good thing too. NUP! Being in a house with an open open open Centre Palace meant that this one came in big time. Mumma copped it all I’m afraid. Feeling better now though. And if that wasn’t enough, I had a 6,4 combination at my front door. Authority attacking Passions, Metal cutting Wood. This saw my thought patterns dogged by self doubt, second guessing and radical thoughts of taking up new directions with the business. Thankfully this all washed away with time.

June saw this Balance with the Monthly Star 1 visiting the Annual Star 9. Water and Fire together. Balance. Ahhhh. I had the Star 5 in the South, my front door, so we did have hiccups with neighbours being very rowdy in this direction, therefore I put in place the Wealth Bringer Bowl, and quietness ensued. (I could have used a windchime, but this part of the building is very exposed, so they would have been singing loudly all the time, not gently like the energy conversation they should be…)

I am constantly in awe of how effective the most simple remedies are when it comes to Flying Stars Feng Shui. I am also constantly in observance of my energy layers, and at times that does mean ‘switching off’ to it all and just soaking up the vibes, enjoying the magic, listening to the messages. Its not all about being ‘clinical’ with your Feng Shui knowledge. A lot of it comes down to ‘feeling your way’ through the hours, days and seasons.

We have pretty much completed our moving in stage and feel well and truly entrenched in this little place. The Landscape Feng Shui is vastly superior, and it has brought with it another lesson for me, that the Form of the landscape dramatically affects even the best building chart and how those combinations manifest. It sets up a foundation layer that influences everything else. A chart is only as good as the supporting Forms.

See? There’s always a reason for the upheavals in Life. :) As a Feng Shui Practitioner, I have studied Landscape formation and effects, but there is simply nothing like first hand experience!
This move has also brought with it some realisations regarding my role as Mother to my three little children, and because of some of these truths being revealed, I am feeling a lot more Free to be exactly who I am, and give as I can. Because of this I will be expanding my E-consultations and taking on more of that kind of work, as it can be completed at times of Peace in my house. Therefore obligations to my family and to clients can be fulfilled with ease. Simple hey?

Thankyou for your support of the MiniZine via orders through JTHTC. Without your support I could not keep the work I do going, so if you have been wanting to order some Organic Products, Flower Remedies, Wind Chimes, Aromatherapy Dilutions, Incense, Manuals or Study sessions, please get in touch, I’d love to hear from you! :) Thankyou also for the lovely emails telling me how much you are enjoying the MiniZine each month.

“I find it difficult to feel responsible for the suffering of others. That's why I find war so hard to bear. It's the same with animals: I feel the less harm I do, the lighter my heart. I love a light heart. And when I know I'm causing suffering, I feel the heaviness of it. It's a physical pain. So it's self-interest that I don't want to cause harm."
