5 things you need to know for 2015 Year of the Earth Goat and the Ambitious Wood Star 3

So what are your plans for the year ahead? Are you dreading the grind of yet another year of obligations to be met and tasks to be completed, or are you enthusiastically getting organised to master a particular aspect of Life?

Whatever your outlook is it will be benefited by a structure to the way you approach each and every month and the spaces that support you each day.

A detailed diagram of the potential energy flow to and from a built structure. Manual 1 - 'Holistic Feng Shui & Energy Layers', Holistic Therapy Connections. You can apply the same techniques and observations to a room or workspace as you would a building.

Holistic Feng Shui uses the oldest concept of feng shui from the authentic study of Flying Stars (Xuan Kong) taken from the 'I Ching' The Book of Changes, alongside complimentary therapies that can be implemented into everyday life, no matter how much or how little you know of feng shui to begin with.  You won't find a lot of trinkets or tassels in Flying Stars Feng Shui, instead you'll be asked to get creative using Form, Colour and Sound to manifest living and working spaces that nourish and support you.

This coming year is sure to be full of ambition and high energy (Wood Star 3), and along with it the contrasting energy of wanting to secure oneself in a life that feels comfortable (Earth Goat). The two frequencies can reside happily beside each other, but normally this pairing can be unbalancing, sort of like a 'push-me-pull-you' sort of situation, where one feels like they are getting stretched in two directions.

Here are five tips from Holistic Feng Shui with Flying Stars to help you navigate the energy layers of the Annual Influences for 2015...

1. Begin the year with a clear idea of what you wish to achieve. If it's personal or business, getting it written down and then making sense of it with a step by step list or table can help you feel in charge of your destiny.  A Vision Board or Dream Gallery is a great idea for inspiration and to keep 'that feeling' on track during the year, but you can also put the more mundane needs in visual format to make quick and easy sense of the path you're taking.

2.  Remove the unnecessary.  Define the purpose of each space and take things that do not belong there into a holding space until you can reorganise your possessions. (of course if you are space strapped then clever options for clearing things into defined areas of one space is great for close spaced living or working)

3.  Know what's on the horizon with careful planning for the best possible energy to support your endeavours. This year you'll want to know which direction to face for the most favourable energy flow and which one to avoid facing to remove potential problems.

4.  Clear up the entrances to your building both inside and out. The area directly at the entrance to your building and directly inside your building is called the Ming Tang. It is symbolic of your invitation to the Universe to bring you 'all good things'. What's your Ming Tang inviting into your building? A Space Clearing Ceremony can make an enormous difference to the way we perceive the support coming from our living or working environment. Old, stale and low level Qi can deplete us just by being in the same layer of energy as it is. Clean. Cleanse and Re-set for maximum High Quality Qi Flow!
(This year concentrate on the WEST and SE to remove potentials for problems. Keep both areas clean and quiet if possible. For Wealth opportunities, love up the NORTH and SW as these Annual Influences will have the potential to manifest abundance in your chosen form of Wealth)

5.  Be realistic with your goal setting. Aim for the sky for sure, I'm all for ambition given a direct path, but care needs to be taken to remain securely anchored in reality. Consider budgeting and seeking the help of an experienced mentor whether you are searching for success in your personal and/or business life.
(This year there is a potential for arguments and arrogance to get in the way of success and peacefullness.)

'Feng Shui and other influences we can't see' - Link to podcast and some musings...

Hello and happy June! Nearly halfway through the year and the winds of Winter curl around my ankles, chilling the back of my neck and reminding me that Solstice is nearly here. A time for reflection.

It was in February this year that I was invited to record an interview with Michelle House about the new Feng Shui Annual Influences and some other observations about the value of Feng Shui principles in everyday life. Time flies for sure because that only felt like it was last week!
Here is the link to the podcast for those of you who would like to listen...

What a transformative time 2015 is turning out to be. There is the opportunity this year to take hold of issues that have been circling and perhaps confronting or intimidating you. It's sort of like being baited for an argument which you may choose to engage in and learn from, or pass up and let it sail on by...you know, ah-la Captain Jack Sparrow like...  "I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by."

For me the question this year has been engaging in confrontation. I'm a non-combative person, very happy to be happy, so confrontation never comes naturally, however, I am learning that confrontation in itself need not be 'aggressive' at all, which is enlightening. Confrontation is the hallmark of Star 3 energy. It is pushy, aggressive, sometimes even damaging, yet I always look to both sides of the story. Why is Star 3 given this horrid reputation when in fact Star 3 is also the energy Influence of the East, and related to Health, Family and the igniting energy of nature? Surely this energy would be useful, helpful and positive too? Of course it is! :) It is all about Perception and the way we use it.

When presented with a confrontation person or issue I have been practising my skills of negotiation and also honing my response to intimidation. I feel it is a big personal growth leap for me to learn how to control fear and intimidating feelings so that I can protect myself from lowering my vibration, and succumbing to situations that spiral downwards and inwards negatively.

Peaceful repose brings effortless insight...

What I have been doing is using a technique that helps me to utilise my sense of empathy and to engage with someone intimidating as a 'real person' instead of being overwhelmed by their aggression and or confusion, and my confusion too... for it's often that confusion that translates as frustration and that can further inflame a hot tempered person. Our facial expressions send those signals, so I've been making myself more conscious of the messages my face sends to someone who is confronting me. What tends to happen is I might squint a bit, purse my lips or cock my head to one side. All very natural responses to being confused or confronted.
So instead I'm teaching myself to find a new response...
I relax, I breath, and then I literally 'open my face' to them and listen 'harder' ;). I ask myself quietly "What are they asking for? Can I give it to them? Can I help in this situation?"

And then I allow the event to unfold with expansive and compassionate energy. The more I listen and relax, the better the outcome, for both of us.

Emotions are like water; always in motion from one state to another. What we seek to do is not 'control' it, but rather encouraging its to flow in the most beneficial and positive direction.

Life is so quick nowadays, and it takes real consciousness to stop and hear people. We need to re-learn this skill on every level in our lives, from intimate moments with partners, to parenting behaviours with our children, interactions with co-workers and everyday occurrences with people.

Breathe. Stop. Relax and listen. Open dialogue with something like, "Ok, I hear that you are [angry/sad/upset/confused] about [situation/thing/need], and I can help by [doing/saying/being]. Is that right?" Getting the 'combatant' to be clear about their grievance or need is paramount to getting a situation resolved.

Happy Confrontations to you all and Blessings for peaceful resolutions.
